Chicago, IL
Located just 5 miles from Chicago’s Loop, Grace & Peace Church and the GAP Community Center offer hope and help in the name of Christ. We are in the heart of the Puerto Rican community.
Chicago is the major Metropolis of the Midwest. You will experience every people group & culture on earth during our Chicago service project. Chicago takes pride in its ethnic neighborhoods and churches and restaurants. Hard working and very direct in their communication, Chicagoans have strong opinions on just about every subject you can think of. Make no mistake, the culture and values that mean so much to the residents of this urban center are varied and positive and in your face We enter their community as guests and learners. We have come to serve and not to be served. We will learn to respect and honor their stories of real life in the city. We will have opportunity to share our interests, traditions and our faith with the people we meet on the street and in the neighborhoods.
Our service projects hold the key and open the door to relationships. It is our desire and objective to develop relations with the people we serve and the community where we are hosted. We say, “Work hard, play hard and intentionally look for ways to build relationship and friendships during your Missions Service experience.
