Time with GodPublished on: 2007-01-31

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition,
with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God which
transcends all human understanding, will guard your hearts and minds, IN CHRIST
JESUS."  Phil 4:6-7

"Little Prayer....little power. Much Prayer...MUCH POWER" !!!

As we read the Scriptures, we are always amazed at what God does when people pray.

One of my favorite books on "PRAYER" is written by Dutch Sheets, "Intercessory
Prayer".  I highly recommend this book along with "PRAY MAGAZINE"

At Impact,we begin each day with praise and prayer. After all, it's all about
relationship...Our relationship with God, and God's relationship with us.

I encourage you to INCREASE the time you spend in
relationship with God in prayer in '07.  The gift of "Time" is one great way we
demonstrate our love for another person.  The more time we spend...the deeper
and more meaningful the relationship.

It was many...many years into my relationship with Christ that I learned prayer
was MUCH MORE than speaking...prayer also demands listening to, and listening
for, and watching for God to speak to us.

Please pray for Jo Ann, our desr Frind and Ministry  & Prayer Partner in
Kentucky, recovering from cancer surgery.

Please pray for Dale our dear Friend & Prayer & Ministry Partner & Project
Leader recovering from surgery on his arm....repairs made to torn  arm
legiments
and tendons.
Please pray this month for your Pastor's
Please pray for our Spring Mission  Service Teams
Please pray for the advancement of the gospel world wide
Please pray for the birth of your pregnant family members and friends..each life
is a gift, and known by God...even life in the Mother's womb.
Please pray for our Impact Annual Dinner on March 3rd.
Please pray for our Project Leaders Training coming Feb. 9 - 10

Thank you for praying !

Prayer is the Center...Published on: 2007-01-12

Prayer is at the center of our missions ministry !  At every point in the ministry of Jesus, the scriptures teach that Jesus went to prayer… for  daily strength and wisdom and discernment and power and worship.

Following Jesus example, we strongly practice the discipline of prayer and gain strength and intimacy with our Heavenly Father.

Please pray with us …

for the spread of the gospel worldwide.

for missionaries throughout the world engaged in presenting Jesus Christ as Savior.

for peace in our world and in Jerusalem.

for our mission teams and leaders.

for Pastor’s throughout the world that they may be faithful and powerful in their calling.

for young and older bold preachers and teachers being called by God to ministry

for unity within the body of Christ.

For the Church to continue to care for widows, orphans and the fatherless…the hopeless and the poor, and the lost seeking forgiveness and redemption.  Matt. 25 ministry.

for our up-coming  training for Impact Missions Project Leaders.

for our need for additional staff and volunteer leaders serving Christ through Impact.

for necessary missionary support for our existing and expanding Christian outreach.  See information on our March 3rd annual event.

For Christ-followers to be His hands,  His feet, and His arms …that the world may know…Jesus !    Go light your world !!!!!!!!!!!!

11-22-2006 Happy Thanksgiving!Published on: 2006-11-22

Dear Prayer Leaders,

I can not let time rob me of wishing you and your family and loved ones a MOST BLESSED THANKSGIVING !

Maybe it's the age thing...but Thanksgiving is just such a treasured celebration.
We live in a country of wealth and plenty. We worship our Lord in total freedom.  Our dreams have life.  God has blessed our nation and our families...knowing our imperfections and failings.  And when ALL is said...we have what we have, as Christ-followers....because we are ..."IN CHRIST.
This Thanksgiving, I'll be thinking alot about the blessing of being ..."IN CHRIST".  The words of the song, In Christ Alone...I take my stand...".  Find the words and be blessed.

Twice in the past 2 weeks, I have had to get up from my coffee and leave the coffee shop because I have gotten weepy while reading of God's work in China in the book,
Back To Jerusalem.  If you, as a Prayer Leader only have 2 books to read within the next 30 days....keep reading and searching and living the Scriptures and read this book, Back To Jerusalem.  It is a true narrative of the call of the Christian Church in China.  It is a MUST READ !

I have been humbled and have been deeply strengthened throgh the testimony and trail and dedication of  Christ's Church in China and around  the world.
2 weeks ago I sent an e-mail to a friend who prays and who is one of our Prayer Leaders.  I was complaining of some trials and hardships.  Reading, Back To Jerusalem, I will not complain again.  INSTEAD...I AM COMMITTED TO "TRUST GOD MORE"!
Below are 3 favorites of mine that I want to share with you as a Thanksgiving gift from Tish and I to you and yours....I trust you will enjoy the readings.

# 1. God bless you with His special favor and wonderful peace as you come to know Jesus, our God and Lord, better
and better. As we know Jesus better, His divine power gives us everything we need for living a Godly life.  He has called us to receive His
own glory and goodness !  And by that same mighty power, He has given us all of His rich and wonderful promises.  He will save you
from evil around you and you will share in His divine nature.  II Peter 1: 2-4

# 2   “I Will Sing of My Redeemer”
I will sing of My Redeemer and His wondrous love to me On the cruel cross he suffered from the curse to set me free.
Sing, O sing, of my Redeemer. With his blood he purchased me. On the cross he sealed my parson.  Paid the debt and made me free,
I will tell the wondrous story how my lost estate to save. In his boundless love and mercy He the ransom freely gave.
Sing, O sing, of My Redeemer.  With His blood, He purchased me. On the cross He sealed my pardon.  Paid the debt and made me free.
I will praise my dear Red, His triumphant power I’ll tell. How the victory he giveth over sin and death and hell
Sing, O sing, of my Redeemer. With His blood, He purchased me. On the cross He sealed my pardon. Paid the debt and made me free

# 3 "Christ has no body now on earth but yours;
No hands but yours; No feet but yours; Yours are the eyes through which is to look out Christ’s compassion to the world;
Yours are the feet with which he is to go about doing good; Yours are the hands with which he is to bless now."
...St. Teresa of Avila...
A Place In The Kingdom
God has a prayer for us.  His will be done, “on earth as it is in Heaven…”
God has a place for you in His Kingdom work.
Bring him your mind, your abilities and your
motivations and He will use you to be a light
for His Kingdom everywhere you set foot.
God has a place  for you in His Kingdom work.
Bring Him your insecurities and fears.
Bring Him the measure of faith you have today and
through prayer and discovery watch God increase
your faith and build your confidence.
It is all about God in us,, and not what we can accomplish
for Him in our own strength .  God, working in us
accomplishes His will on earth.
Bring God your hopes and your dreams and the highest
intentions of your heart and watch Him find a significant place
in His Kingdom work for you.

Bring God the words from your heart and soul…” Lord…YES !”
You watch,…you wait…you’ll see !!!!!!!!!!!!

# 3 1/2   Jude 1:20-25
But you, dear friends, carefully build yourselves up in our most holy faith, by praying in the Holy Spirit, staying right in the center of God's love and plan...keeping your arms open and outstretched, ready for the mercy of our Master, Jesus Christ.
And to Him, who can keep you on your feet, always in his bright presence, fresh and alive and holy, to our one God, our only Savior, be glory and majesty and strength...A-men & Glory !!!!!!!!

# 3 3/4     FAMILY AND FRIENDS

We alll have cherished gardens we tend-
It is planted with ove of Family & Friends.
The memories and dreams we treasure and share...are like beayutiful roses found blooming there.
The comfort and care on which we depend,
Is given with love between Family & Friends.
The sunshine of laughter and rain of a tear,
only make our love grow with each passing year
We may all be ourselves with no need to pretend
because of the love of Family & Friends
They notice the rainbows and weather the showers,
They overlook all our weeds and praise all the flowers.
The most valuable thing is the time that we spend,
Tending the garden of Family and Friends.

When counting our blessings, we know from the start.  It is our Family and Friends who are most dear to our Heart.

In closing...Tish and I ask God to bless your family and your home and your loved ones with God's love and peace and presense !

Jesus said, "YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD".  Light your world for His glory this Thanksgiving !!!!!!!!

Glory ! Glory !!

Prayer Update 10/26/2006Published on: 2006-10-26

Thanks so much for your prayers this week.  YES...God has heard and is
answering! I am so thankful and so humbled...even "umbled: :-)!

While here in Gulfport , on our mission, we have experienced God in these
ways... Prayer with a local pastor having, and finally admitting huge
marriage problems and asking for help...dinner this week,  2 nights with
another mission team from the Christian Reformed Church. 1st night the
folks were all from Michigan , and the 2nd night we had EVERYONE from CRWRC
for dinner...people are seeing God can use their manual labor talents for
His kingdom work.  They see and now know that they have been given a
talent that God can use. Our meeting last night with our CRWRC friends was
something...singing with our hands lifted high (Blessed Assurance)
Praying with and for one another and thanking God for our common ,
unifying faith in Christ...our Prayer Walk this morning through every
room of our host church ( Little Rock Missionary Baptist )...one of our
leaders buying and giving a Bible to a despondent person from the Gulfport
community. Our visual work and witness to the Gulfport community as we
serve...loving God and "our neighbor".  Praise God for the witness of
Christ and His Church in Gulfport .  EVERY PERSON and EVERY TEAM that comes
to serve is a light of Christ and people, away from Christ, are noticing
and many coming to Christ and coming back to church.

Thank you for praying!  We have been so blessed, and we are on the
Mission Project Homestretch...and thanking God and looking forward to
being home with Tish.

In last nights meeting, a CR woman read the verses of scripture about us
being a “sweet aroma for Christ".  I recall Prayer Promises and prayer
encouragements with just these words being spoken, even prior to my
departing for Gulfport .

It was just like God speaking...and He was..."I have heard and answered
your prayers".  My eyes were teary, my heart tender... for the rest of the
meeting!!!!  It was a meeting every Christian is Hungering & thirsting
to experience. GOD IS WITH US!

To GOD, be ALL THE GLORY!

Prayer Update 9/23/2006Published on: 2006-09-23

 Dear Friends and Prayer Leaders,

Can you name a more powerful and effective gift, given to every believer than those of the scriptures and prayer?  I am ever grateful for those who have taught and instructed me in the ways of praying the scriptures

The next time you wake up in the early morning hours, and try as you may, you just can not fall back to sleep, try praying Psalm 103.

The next time you catch yourself falling into a spiraling negative mindset or attitude, go to prayer and quote Philippians 4:4-8.

When you are afraid and you need to know the presence and protection of Christ, pray Psalm 91.

And we could name hundreds of other common daily circumstances that when you couple scripture with prayer, you are lifted closer to the Lord and you regain your standing in Christ and your proper perspective of God’s wisdom and His ways and His will.

Impact Mission Prayer Needs

Work & Witness Mission Teams to assist local congregations in Appalachia, South America and in the Southern States yet recovering from Hurricane Katrina.

We are also aware of needs right in our home area of Western Michigan .  Teams are needed to sign on right now for Mission Service Opportunities.

Special funding is needed right now, to purchase building supplies and needed material for ministry outreach.

We are financially partnering with pastors and missionaries who are already serving in their field of ministry, who are depending on us to assist with ministry needs.

We are praying and believing for a great move of God upon the Muslim people nations that they might recognize Jesus Christ as the One who can satisfy the longings of their souls.

We are praying for broken relationships within the body of Christ.  We are praying for unity within Christ’s body.

We are praying for Pastor’s and Missionaries who are discouraged and have lost their vision and passion for Christ and or the people they been called to serve.

Please pray with us!  Is there a need you can meet spiritually or financially?
