Dear Friends and Prayer Leaders,
Always a great thing for me to share God-moments with you on our missionary travels. Thank for caring and praying and sharing your comments and thoughts with me along the way. I love it !!!!
God Moment One
On my way to Gulfport, MS I had to stop in Franklin, TN to meet and enjoy time at a perspective new Mission Project site. ...WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pastor Jose and his wife Terri...awesome...the morning message from God's word on Sunday...POWERFUL. My time in Franklin...could not have been more productive and BLESSED ...SO BLESSED !
God Moment Two
Now...in Gulfport, Ken our Construction Coordinator, for the first time ever, drops a load of newly purchased supplies in the middle of the road. Matt, a 19 year old is following Ken. Matt proceeds to help pick up the construction material...and then the story gets so...LIKE GOD.
Matt and his pregnat wife are homeless and living in their car. Wife, Trish, is going to deliver a babin 2 days. Ken invites Matt & Trish to come to church for a meal and to get out of the heat. Our work team in Gulfport surround this couple with Christ's love and compassion..giving them a place to stay, praying for their son to be born and offering
counsel and encouragement in following Christ. WOW...all resulting from a drooped load...an Angel must have had to have pushed the construction stuff off Ken's truck, at just the right time, and for the right reason...GLORY ! Our God Moves !
God Moment Three
A student from the team serving in Gulfport, wrote this and shared it with the group this morning...
The Rainbow After the Storm
Sage sighed deeply as she slumped in her chair. Okay, her Mother replied, setting down her cookbook. "What's wrong?" "Nothing really". Sage sighed again "With a sigh that big, you can't fool anyone, so spill it Sage." Sage looked into the concerned eyes of her Mother and began to relive all that had been haunting her for the last month. She told how she had received two D's and a C on her last report card, Of how she had broke her I-pod and lost twenty dollars. She explained how her boyfriend had been ignoring her and that her best friend had been spreading rumors about her. By the time Sage was finished, she was sobbing in her Mother's embrace.
"Why would God do this to me? I didn't do anythinng wrong!" "I know, sweetie, what would make you feel better?" Sage replied with a sniffle, "I don't think anything." "Well, think of something Sage", said her Mother. Her Mom asked if cooking oil would help. Sage only starred, thinking her Mother must be kidding. No, quired Mother with a sly smile. "Alright then, how about raw eggs and baking soda"? "Mom, you're not helping!" Sage searched for a hint of a smile on her Mother's face and found none. Flour ?" "No Mom, those things are disgusting", Sage retorted, thinking her Mother was totally out of line.
Well, my cakes are'nt disgusting are they"? "Of course not" Sage replied become more upset. "Well, what do you think makes the cakes? All of these items I just mentioned that are so disgusting, are the same things that make my cakes so delicious. What you need to remember Sage, is that even things that seem horrible at the time, like just plain cooking oil and baking oil can come together and form something beautiful like this chocolate cake that I'm baking".
God works the same way. Things might seem horrible at the time and you might find yourself asking, "Why would God allow this." Just like Sage did when things were'nt going right in her life. God works in mysterious ways. Even in the case of a hurricane or flood, God is there. He has a purpose for everything He does. To all who keep their faith in him,
they will be rewarded in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Just remember, that the most beautiful rainbow's always follow the worst storms.

Dear Prayer Leaders,
This week we have teams in Chicago, Franklinton, LA & Blaine, KY. I'm writing you from Blaine...20 miles from Paintsville...of course, you know Paintville...right ? Just abt. 550 miles from Holland ( Home ).
All I can say is....GLORY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Last night's evening mtg with honest sharing, discussion on God's Faithfullness and our special music guest of the evening...wooooooooo !
Thank you Lord !
Tonight's Mtg. at the Court House in KY. In the County Courtroom...YES...
the County Court Room ( actual court room ) I could not believe what we experienced.
In the front of the room were the Assistant County Proscutor, The County Sheriff and preachers and gospel singers and convicted drug folk.
There is such a huge drug problem in Appalachia that many commuities are doing many unconventional things to get some help and hope back for so many locked into the drug scene.
The convicted users are given a choice between jail time and or going to Tuesday night services at and in the ounty Courtroom changed into a church.
TRULY !!!!!! WOW...only in Appalachia and it was an experience !!!!!!!!!
In the Courtroom 2 preachers spoke ( each on abt. 30 min...and one was particularly INTERESTING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You had to be there. The gospel siner was ...country bluegrass great !!!!!
After the meeting, the Sherriff stood before the group and re arrested 2 persons in the crowd who had gotten up during mandidtory service attendance, and gone out to their cars briefly to snort some stuff or pop some pills. We were all kinda in shock...but it happened and I wish more governmnet officials would be as bold as these in allowing Christ and His gospel to be preached to troubled citizens.
Our work teams are working to the bone and blessing so many. In Blaine, we are building a new church building for Pastor Lenny. Anyone who would like to make a special 1 time donation for more building materials for Blaine Church & Outreach Center may send a check ear -markded for Blainre Church. Please make your check out to Impact Missions and you will be receipted and they gift will go for building materials to complete the project. We need approx. 5,000.00 to finish the exterior.
Thank you for praying for our teams. A team in Franklinton, LA arrived at their worksite to find a Gramma in her wheelchair, out in her back yard, cleaning up debries from Hurricaane Katrina. The team jumped in and helped Gramma finish the job she started on her own. Gramma, then invited the teak over for breakfast this morning before they started work again.
Can you picture this ? WOW !!!
Our Chicago team arrives Friday this week.
Thank you for praying and caaring and giving and just thinking of us.
I LOVE EVERY SECOND of my experience on mission projects ..EVERY PRECIOUS SECOND ! I wish I did'nt have to sleep !!!!!!
Please keep Pastor Lenny in your thoughts and prayers. I'm in Blaine this week as a last minute decision. Lenny has been very ill and is only able to with us on a very limited baisis during this week. Pray for a full recovery ! He is fresh out of the hospital.
So Blessed in Blaine and to hear reports from Franklinton...SO BLESSED !!!
SO BLESSED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GLORY ! God is FAITHFUL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
