Richwood, WV

The staff at Impact Missions is very excited about our newest project site!  Richwood is a small town (less than 3000) located in a mountain valley 25 miles east of Summersville, the seat of Nicholas couny in southern West Virginia.  The needs are many and so the opportunities to be the hands and feet of Christ are many.  The people of Richwood are friendly, outgoing and anxious to work with us in helping their community and serving God.

Richwood, West Virginia, the southern gateway to the Monongahela National Forest and the federally protected Cranberry Wilderness.  Richwood was settled in 1901 by the Cherry River Boom and Lumber Company.  It derives its name from the wealth of natural resources found here.  Today it is home to a population of 2,800 residents and has blossomed into a recreational paradise where visitors the world over come to fish, mountain bike, hike, camp and enjoy our rich mountain splendor.

Within this high mountain setting, recreational opportunities about throughout all times of the year.

Typical Day with Impact Missions
We begin the day with a Power-Up meeting 15 minutes prior to breakfast.  We eat and have a  Personal Time With God.  Then, it's off to work (9 am – 4:30 pm) then, back to our lodging location for showers, free time and dinner.  Each evening you conduct a meeting of debriefing the day, singing, scripture,  and a challenge from God's Word.

Free time activities include; swimming and picnicing at Summersville Lake, rafting and canoeing the New and Gauley Rivers, hiking or horseback riding on the beautiful mountain trials!  Please check out the Photo Gallary area for pictures of this location!

Please prayerfully consider Richwood when you are planning your mission trips.
