Excerpts from Mission Team Members

Have you heard stories about people praying, and all of a sudden their prayer requests were answered?  Have you ever said, this never happens to me?  Did you really believe God would hear and answer your prayers? The Kentucky team saw Mark 11:24 become a reality.  Even though it rained every day on the Kentucky trip, it didn't dampen the teams spirits.  We thanked God for the work we accomplished.  Even though it was cold most every day, we didn't let it harden our hearts towards the Lord. We thanked Him for the fact that we had brought warm clothes. Even though we weren't certain of the best way to reach out to the community and be Jesus to people, we didn't give in to fear. We got down on our knees and asked God to lead the way.  By the end of the trip, we had built a brand new deck, rebuilt a rotten old deck, put up new siding on a house, cleaned out a dirty building, replaced a bathroom floor, watched God split the never ending sea of clouds with the sun that we had specifically prayed for and became vessels that God used to usher five new people into the family of God.  Not one complaint was uttered all week. We spent our week in paint, in the mud, in the rain, but most importantly, we spent our week in the presence of God.  Mike - OKC

When it comes to an Impact trip, those who experience it really say it best.  How will you be changed by an Impact trip?

"This mission trip has meant so much to me.  I've gone out of my comfort zone and learned to do many things I didn't know previous to this trip.  I've learned how much God can move and how much power He has over everything I've also learned how Satan can try to mess things up and give us temptations.  I've learned how much you can help others by sharing your life with them and just listening to what they have to say."  Unknown/Kentucky

"When I first flew over the Andes Mountains, I had no idea how much God was going to change my life.  I had made the journey to Quito, Ecuador with the intent of having ten days of mission experience.  Those ten days changed my thinkings forever."  Lisa/Ecuador

“What happened to me in Kentucky on my mission trip is that I gave my heart to Jesus.

What an awesome experience.  I learned to open myself up to friendships and to people who are different than I am.”
Ann  /  Kentucky

“I learned I can take chances working for Christ.  I don’t have to be perfect.  I didn’t want to come on this mission project because I thought I might make mistakes and maybe say the wrong thing.  But, God showed me He is perfect and accepts my mistakes and is able to forgive me.”
Matt  /  Tennessee

“My love for God has really grown and I am going to start reading my Bible.  I hope to come back next year”
Courteney   /  West Virgina

I learned a lot this week on the mission team.  I learned not to judge people so quick simply by their looks.  It was fun and we met some really cool people who live a lot different than I do at home.”
 Ryan   /  Kentucky

“God seems to be more alive and active in Ecuador than back home.  These people have so little but they appear to be so happy and connected with their families a lot closer than many families at home.  I  want to think about becoming a missionary.  Studying Spanish in school makes sense to me for once.”
Bruce  /  Ecuador

I now know God  better having served on a mission team.  I’m a lot closer too with my church friends who came on this mission trip.”  I’m going to pray more and trust God more for things in my life”
Kelly  /  Kentucky
